It’s all part of the one-day Let’s Play PA, a conference on the subject of video game development celebrating the efforts of hundreds of PA talented student, developers and hobbyists. The conference itself is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on October 2nd at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology at 326 Market Street in Harrisburg.

The free awards show will bestow recognition in various categories including Best in Gameplay, Best in Tabletop Games, Student Games, Digital Games, Best of Expo, and other recognition awards. There will be prize giveaways.

  • 5:00pm – Light beverages and hors d’oeuvre will be served in the main lobby. Check-in at the registration desk to be entered into the door prize drawing.
  • 5:30pm – Door open
  • 6:00pm – Show begins
  • 7:30pm – Show ends

The focus of Let’s Play PA is quite simple; to showcase the creative talents of Pennsylvania’s game developers and educational programs. PA has a handful of well-known studios such as Schell Games in Pittsburgh and the Skyless Game Studio in Philadelphia, but there are many more talented studios and individuals who deserve recognition. Similarly, there are many educational institutions like Carnegie Mellon and Drexel University educating the next generation of game developers, but there are other institutions and programs doing equally important and influential work across the Commonwealth.

“Pennsylvania is a growing hub of talent, skill, and vision, and this is free event is an opportunity to share that with the industry at large,” says Charles Palmer, executive director of the Center for Advanced Entertainment and Learning Technologies at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.
