2018

Raekwon Jarnagin, B.S., Computational Biology, has announced his engagement to fellow HU Class of 2018 member, Robyn Green.

Shikha Sen, M.S., ISEM is working as Sr. Data Analyst at Anthem Inc at Richmond,VA.

Rohit Singh, M.S. Project Management, has accepted a position with Deloitte in NY.

2017

Daniel Chapman III, B.S. Biotechnology, now holds a position with Romer Labs (A subsidiary of the Erber Group) working as a Quality Assurance and Technical Support Technician. In June he is launching Spoken From The Trenches, his  open mic venue, in Wilmington, Delaware. He is  in current development of an online based sitcom series and launching plans for expanding his website. Just really staying busy as he  prepares for the next few stages of his life.

2016

Tyler Batts, Class of 2016, B.S. Interactive Media, is a developer at Greenfish Labs.

Skyler Brandt, Class of 2016, B.S. Computer & Information Sciences, is a Solution Developer in the Enterprise Risk Group at Deloitte.

Donna Cranston, Class of 2016, B.S. Integrative Sciences, work in the BioChemistry Department for Lancaster Labs.

Richard Gibney, Class of 2016, B.S. Computer and Information Sciences, is employed at the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Katie Piatt, Class of 2016, B.S. Geospatial Technology, is a Geospatial Analyst with Dauphin County.

Brittany Pitzer, Class of 2016, B.S. Integrative Sciences (Biochemistry Concentration) is an Associate Microbiologist with Lancaster Laboratories.

Arie Prickler, B.S., Class of 2016, Interactive Media.  “Harrisburg University was the perfect place to explore my interest in 3D Modelling and Animation. Transferring in with an Associate’s Degree allowed me to take all the main courses designated with my major right away, and after two excellent years, I had earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interactive Media. Thanks to all the staff and administration who made this possible, especially Charles Palmer! I currently work for Saras-3D, a 3D hardware and software start-up company designing 3D models and compiling them inside of Unity. Thanks to HU for helping me reach my dream-job!”

Daniil Stolyarov, Class of 2016, Geospatial Technology, is a Quality Control Analyst at NIPSCO.

Steven Tessier, Class of 2016, B.S. Biotechnology, is enrolled in graduate studies at Jefferson College of Biomedical Sciences.

Jacob Trimmer, Class of 2016, B.S. Geospatial Technology.  ?After Graduating in December of 2016. “I’ve worked at Scotts Bluff County Nebraska as a GIS Technician. Then in July of 2017 a position for the York County Planning Commission opened up and I was able to get it. The Planning Commission said they hired me based on my internship and projects all of which secured from contacts from the University. I am making Maps and developing applications for the Planning Commission. Thanks to the University for Helping me realize my Dream Job!”

Madyson Clair VanHyl, Class of 2016, B.S. Integrative Sciences, is a deputy coroner in Pennsylvania.  Dr. Robert Furey, who taught Madyson in the Forensics majors, notes “She is the epitome of our mission statement in that not only did she take great advantage of the forensic program offerings while she was a student at HU, she also immediately found employment in her field after graduation.  She is currently working as deputy coroner in two different counties in Central PA, giving back to the community.”  #HUProud.

Erica Ward, Class of 2016, B.S. Integrative Sciences (Biochemistry concentration) is a laboratory manager and research associate in the BioChemistry and Molecular Biology Department at Penn State University Park.   She is conducting research to better understand the proteins involved in E. coli’s uptake of iron.

Cameron Yesconis, Class of 2016,  B.S. Computer and Information Sciences, is a business & technical analyst at United Concordia.

2015

Timothy L. DeFoor, Class of 2015, M.S. Project Management was elected Dauphin County Controller on November 3, 2015. The election marked a milestone for Dauphin County as DeFoor is the first African-American ever to be elected as a county row officer from either political party.

Philip A Grim II, 2015, M.S. Analytics, is currently employed L-3 Communications, assigned as Chief Engineer of the Data Tactics business unit. Additionally, he has joined the corporate faculty at HU where teaches in the Analytics program.

Alex Luck, 2015 B.S. Biotechnology,  Vaccine Formulation, Filling, and Lyophilization Operator at GlaxoSmithKline.

Harley J. Quinn, Class of 2015  B.S. Biotechnology, Vaccine Formulation, Filling, and Lyophilization Operator at GlaxoSmithKline.

Jason Smith II, 2015, B.S. Biotechnology, is in the Ph.D. program at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia

Cameron Spurlock, 2015, M.S. Learning Technologies, became a Junior Designer at Breakaway Games immediately after completing his internship at the company.

2014

Charles Black, 2014, M.S. Project Management, is Preschool Director at the Williamsport YMCA. He oversees a 20+ person staff, 7 classrooms, a large budget, and more. “I believe my Project Management degree will help me manage the many projects that this position entails. I have been a Lead Teacher in our Before and After School program where I have subbed within the preschool. We recently got a grant for two of our classrooms to buy computers that our students can use. I am eager to use my Learning Technology course experience as we implement new technologies for our students.”

Nathaniel Clarke,2014 B.S., Cybersecurity, a full time Associate IT Analyst at Highmark Blue Shield.

Ryan Donnelly, M.S., Learning Technologies, is the new Instructional Technology Coordinator of Pequea Valley School District. According to Ryan: “All of the hard work at HU has paid off and I’ve stepped into the job that I set out to earn through my degree at HU!”

Alexandria Keener, 2014 B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, owns and operates My Girlfriend’s Closet, an online and retail high-end clothing consignment shop. Additionally, she is doing the web design and managing the social media for the National Association of Mothers and Daughters in Business along with Powerhouse Principles.

Denise C. Nichols, M.S., Learning Technologies with an Instructional Technology Specialist Certification from the PA Dept. of Ed., is the Technology Teacher at St. Joseph School in York, PA, where she teaches computer classes once a week to grades 1- 6. For grades 4-6, she has developed online courses in Moodle. All of the students in grades 4-6 are taught how to self enroll, navigate the Moodle learning environment, upload files, submit assignments, check their grades and use the calendar to keep track of important dates and assignments. She also taught Act 48 Classes to the Faculty on such topics as Information Literacy for Elementary Students, Introduction to Word, Discovery Education Resources, Website Design in SharePoint Designer and Classroll (our online gradebook, assignments and attendance program). Also, she has worked one on one with several teachers to help them infuse their curriculum with technology to engage the students more deeply in the learning process. In addition to being a teacher, she is a member of the Technology Department. She attends the weekly department meetings, works closely with the volunteers on the iTAT (Information Technology Assistance Team), answers Help Desk Tickets and completes any tasks or projects that the Director of IT needs accomplished in the school. Currently, she is leading a group in researching and suggesting a plan of action for mobile computing at St. Joseph School.

Wouter Paulirene Popelier, 2014 M.S., Information Systems Engineering and Management, has joined the faculty at Harrisburg University.

Tricia Renae Reisinger, 2014, B.S. Integrative Sciences, works in the Harrisburg University Geospatial Technology Lab where she is part of a team responsible for the digital inventory of over 1,500 maps of abandoned mines in Pennsylvania.

Josh Smith, 2014 B.S., Cybersecurity, has accepted a position with the U.S. Department of Defense.

2013

Abdoulaye Camara,2013 M.S., Information Systems and Engineering Management, is a software developer for Deloitte.

Stephen Cline, 2013, B.S., Geospatial Technology, is now a GIS planner with the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission.

Terrell R. Darden,, 2013, M.S., Information Systems & Engineering Management, is a project associate with JP Morgan Chase.

Mishelle DuPree, 2013, M.S., Information Systems Engineering and Management, is a Senior Analyst for Loss Prevention at Rite Aid Corporation.

Mario Irizarry, 2013, B.S., Computer & Information Sciences, has been accepted into the Information Systems Engineering & Management (ISEM) graduate program at Harrisburg University.

Derek Ivey, 2013, B.S., Computer & Information Sciences, accepted an Engineer position with Google.

Stacy Kreitzer, 2013 M.S. Learning Technologies, became the Instructional Technology Coach at Lower Dauphin School District after being a Chemistry Teacher at Lower Dauphin for 14 years.

James Stephen Lyons, Jr., 2013, B.S., Biotechnology, is a Research Technologist in the Department of Pharmacology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Research Assistant at Melanovus Oncology

William MacCain, 2013, B.S., Biotechnology and Integrative Sciences, has been accepted into a PhD program in Microbiology and Molecular Biology at the Arkansas School of Medical Sciences with a full-tuition scholarship and an annual stipend.

Treamel Morris, 2013, M.S., Information Systems Engineering and Management, is now Enterprise Architect in the Office of the Chief Information Officer for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Administration in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Nicholas Natale, 2013, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is an Associate Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin.

Christian Njatcha, 2013, B.S., Integrative Sciences, accepted an offer from the University of Minnesota Graduate program in Pharmacology. He received a 5-year full scholarship. Over 1000 students from across the country applied for Fall 2013 entrance into the program: Christian was one of 5 students ultimately accepted.

Fenil Patel, 2013, B.S., Integrative Sciences, is enrolled in the master-of-science program at New York Medical College. He plans to study biochemistry and molecular biotechnology.

Carlos Prieto, 2013, M.S., Project Management, is a business process manager at the Hershey Company.

Matthew Rissler, 2013, B.S., NanoBiotechnology, is a technology specialist with Avanti Technologies in Washington, DC and is in the Officer Candidate Program for the PA National Guard..

Arthur Titzel, 2013, M.S., Learning Technologies, is a Social Studies teacher at Derry Township School District.

Justin Venters, 2013, M.S., Learning Technologies, has joined the Towson University in Maryland as an eLearning Specialist for its Center for Professional Development.

Zhengei “Gabriel” Yang, 2013, M.S. Project Management, is a export project administrator with WAC Lighting in New York.

2012

Gio Acosta, 2012, B.S., Computer Information and Sciences, is a programmer with Penn National Insurance in Harrisburg.

Leslie Arnold, 2012, M.S., Learning Technologies, is adjunct faculty at Lancaster General College and English teacher at Solanco High School.

Christopher Bley, 2012, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is a Software Developer at GeoDecisions, a division of Gannett Fleming.

Barry L. Boyer, 2012, M.S., Information Systems Engineering and Management, is Manager of IT Support Services at Holy Spirit Health System.

Adam Cole, 2012, B.S., Biotechnology with a concentration in Food Safety and Quality Assurance, works at Victory Brewing Company in Lancaster as a brewer.

After completing his M.S. in ISEM in 2012, Mohamed El Aouad moved from PA to South Florida to join the Implementation Engineering team of Wells Fargo Bank (one of the largest in the US) to cover the State of Florida needs of IT solutions inside the Merchant Services and Credit Card Processing Industry.

Ashley Green, 2012, B.S., Biology, married Calvin McKinnie on November 22, 2013 and works at Eurofins Lancaster Labs as a Chemist in Pharmaceutical Product Testing.

Russell ‘Rusty’ Green, 2012, M.S., Information Systems Engineering and Management; 2008, B.S., Geospatial Technology, is a senior application developer at GeoDecisions, a GIS consulting company in Camp Hill, where he interned as an undergraduate student.

Erin Hahn, 2012, M.S., Learning Technologies,is a Kindergarten Teacher at Rolling Acres Elementary in Littlestown.

Johnathan Jackson, CAPM, 2012, M.S., Information Systems Engineering and Management; 2009, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is the Director, Project Management Office for UPMC Pinnacle and a Corporate Faculty Member with Harrisburg University. Johnathan also serves on the Board of Directors for Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania.

Andre Johnston, 2012, M.S., Project Management, has joined Celerity.

Katie Lett, 2012, M.S. Learning Technologies, became an Instructional Designer at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in February of this year after teaching at various school districts for 5+ years and being a substitute teacher the previous year.

Jennifer Minteer, 2012, B.S.,Integrative Sciences and Biotechnology, is completing a Master’s degree in chemistry at Villanova University.

Ben Newton, 2012, M.S., Information Systems Engineering and Management; 2009, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is a software engineer at United BioSource, a global science and medical affairs corporation where he interned as an undergraduate at HU.

Nidhi Singh, 2012, B.S., Biotechnology w/ conc. in Nanotechnology, is now working for the Commonwealth in Harrisburg, PA.

Katie Tobin, 2012, M.S. in Information Systems Engineering & Management, is a SharePoint Developer at Planet Technologies, located in Maryland.

Jacqueline Turner, 2012, B.S., Integrative Sciences, is now a Supply Planner at Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support in Mechanicsburg, PA.

2011

Iris Arrington, 2011, B.S. Biotechnology, earned her Master of Science in Clinical Trials and Research Management from Thomas Edison State College, and will attend Widener University of Law to pursue a Master of Jurisprudence in Global Compliance Law.

Nikki Coleman, 2011, B.S.,Biotechnology, is pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Scranton.

James Gale, 2011, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is employed Penn State Hershey Medical Center/College of Medicine as an IT Security Engineer.

Edward Gerst, 2011, B.S., Integrative Sciences (Environmental Chemistry), is employed at the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) as an Air Quality Specialist/Environmental Trainee, and Graduate Student at Penn State Harrisburg, pursuing a Masters of Science in Environmental Pollution Control (expected graduation in 2014).

David van der Goes, 2011, B.S. in Computer and Information Science with a concentration in New Media & Design, currently working for American Public University System as a Multimedia Design Specialist in Charles Town, West Virginia.

Ashley Harris, 2011, B.S., Management and eBusiness, is now currently a Para Planner and IT Coordinator at Ameriprise Financial in Camp Hill. She completed an M.S. in Information System Engineering and Management in 2013 at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.

Beth Hartranft, 2011, M.S. in Learning Technologies, is now the Elementary Technology Coordinator for Warwick School District in Lititz, PA.

Jason Hyers, 2011, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is currently at the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts as Infrastructure Technician.

Pam Ibric,, 2011, B.S., Biotechnology, is Director of the Consumer Research Insights Lab at Harrisburg University.

Alison Jacob, 2011, B.S.Integrative Sciences-Concentration: Forensic Science, is now a Quality Assurance Lab Technician at Pfizer in Carlisle, PA.

Jeffrey Miesemer, 2011, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is an Application Developer at Transcend Spatial Solutions in Roswell, GA. He telecommutes from Hershey, PA.

Angela Rupert, 2011, Learning Technologies Master of Science, is a Learning and Development Specialist at the Hershey Company and an independent Blended Learning Consultant.

Karen Shaputis, 2011, Integrative Sciences with a concentration in Forensics, works for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as a Project Alert Representative. She is also working on a Master’s in Forensic Sciences and will graduate in May 2013.

Pavithra “Pavi” Vaideeswaran, B.S., 2011, Computer and Information Sciences, is currently pursuing a master-of-science degree in Computer Science at Penn State Harrisburg.

2010

Ashley Clouser, 2010, B.S., Biotechnology, is an Account Executive at Lab Support in Baltimore, MD.

Fatima Fofanah, 2010, B.S., Biotechnology,is a first-year student in the College of Science and Technology at Temple new two-year master of science/professional science master’s (MS/PSM) degree program. She spent four years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a part of a co-op program focused on fruit-crop viruses. She wants to work on either agricultural crops or wastewater issues, perhaps in her native Sierra Leone. “Biotech is the perfect program to prepare me to go in either of those directions,” she said.

Karl Haviland, 2010, M.S., Information Technology Project Management, is a senior software engineer with Bright Power in New York.

Andrew Heller, 2010, M.S., Information Technology Project Management, is a project manager for KnowledgeLake.

Melissa McCune, 2010, B.S., Geography and Geospatial Imaging, works in tech support at Comcast Cable.

Daniel McGlone, 2010, B.S., Geography and Geospatial Imaging, is now a GIS Analyst at Azavea, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA. Completed grad school at the University of Pennsylvania in May 2012.

Dimitri Rosaire Mokpidie, 2010, B.S., Computer & Information Sciences, is an application/programming developer with the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

Dominic Nacci, 2010, B.S., Integrative Sciences, is Head Training Expiditer at Aroogas 11 on the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg.

Andrew Packard, 2010, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is an IT Systems Technician at Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union.

Michael Platt, 2010, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, has been promoted to systems administrator at the Bethlehem construction firm Quandel Enterprises, Inc. He will be responsible for network workstation connectivity and troubleshooting, email, user data and database management, project setup and application, and general technical support. Platt joined Quandel in 2012 as a network technician, which involved assisting new employees with Enterprise infrastructure and application knowledge development.

Nicholas Poague, 2010, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is a Web Designer/Network Operations Center Technician at One2One Inc. in Lancaster, PA.

Brian Simmons, 2010, B.S. Biotechnology, is employed at ALS Environmental.

Erin Zies, 2010, B.S., Integrative Sciences, is a chemist at Lancaster Laboratories.

2009

Nicky Cheng, 2009, B.S., Biotechnology, is a Microbiologist with Samuel Adams Brewery.

Thomas King, PMP, ITIL, 2009, M.S. Project Management with a focus in Information Technology, is now Deputy Business Administrator for Information Services at The City of York, PA.

L. Joseph Minnick, PMP, 2009, M.S., Project Management with a focus in Information Technology, is Vice President for Business & Logistics Consulting at Target Systems in Mechanicsburg, PA.

Nishit Patel, 2009, B.S., Integrative Sciences, is a Seed Analyst I at Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

Ashley ‘Nikki’ Shokes, 2009, B.S., Integrative Sciences, resides in Georgia and works in a private medical practice.

2008

Judy Arnold, 2008, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, teaches at Reading Area Community College.

Jacob Kriner, 2008, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is a helpdesk professional at Randstad Technologies.

Alison Jago Logan, 2008, B.S., Integrative Sciences with a concentration in Forenic Biotechnology, is now a patient care technician at DaVita Dailysis in Camp Hill.

Phu Pham, 2008, B.S., Integrative Sciences, works at Oracle and resides in Colorado.

Abner Vargas, 2008, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, is a Technical Analyst for Highmark Blue Shield and completed in the master-of-science program in Information Systems Engineering and Management in 2013 at HU.

2007

Joshua Easter, 2007, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, works for Advanced Scientifics in Millersburg, PA as a custom applications developer.

Brian Thomas, 2007, B.S., Computer and Information Sciences, works at P.H. Glatfelter.

Michael Wright, 2007, Integrative Sciences, teaches Ethical Hacking, Web Technologies and Risk Management/Security Analysis for Harrisburg University and is a consultant at a Fortune 100 Company. Michael has the following professional certifications: MCSE, CCEA, CISSP, CCNP, Security+, ITILv3. He co-authored two books on the subject of Citrix security and has published numerous white papers and documents relating to information security.
