About ISEM at HU:

Harrisburg University is actively seeking Full-time, Corporate Faculty (part-time) or Visiting Faculty for positions in Information Systems Engineering and Management (ISEM).  The ISEM Graduate Program at offers a unique combination of Information Systems (IS), Systems Engineering (SE) and Engineering Management.

Due to tremendous growth in the program, we are seeking exceptionally qualified individuals who can teach high quality graduate level courses and lead applied research initiatives. Specific areas of interest are:

  • Smart Towns, Cities, Enterprises and Communities
  • AI Applications in next generation of business services (e.g., Block Chain Applications)
  • Business Intelligence and Big Data Applications
  • Business Process Modeling, Workflow Systems and Business Games
  • Enterprise Planning, Architectures and Integration
  • Information Security Engineering and Management
  • Web-based Software Engineering Environments and Design Patterns
  • Mobile Computing and Wireless Communications

ISEM is a flexible and interdisciplinary program that emphasizes enterprise architecture, planning and management issues at global levels.  An ISEM student may specialize in digital government, digital health, entrepreneurship, information security, software engineering and systems development or an individualized concentration.

ISEM graduates are able to:

  • Manage and engineer, or re-engineer, the systems needed to support the current, and next, generation(s) of digital enterprises;
  • Undertake planning integration, security and administrative assignments in modern enterprises;
  • Emphasize interdisciplinary knowledge from three active areas of work (information systems, systems engineering and management) to address practical problems;
  • Be a thought leader in building and managing future systems.

 

Qualifications:

We are looking for entrepreneurs and leaders with solid industry and academic backgrounds who can shape our rapidly growing programs.  Further, interested candidates should provide evidence of experience in teaching and instructional development with prior industry experience being a plus.

Interested candidates should possess a/an:

  • Earned Ph.D. in MIS, Information Systems, Management Science or a closely-related field with BS and MS degrees in STEM disciplines such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or Operations Research
  • Candidates with an MBA in addition to the PhD will also be given strong consideration
  • Willingness and aptitude for graduate-level teaching;
  • Ability to initiate and supervise interdisciplinary, applied projects;
  • Experience in teaching and instructional development with prior corporate/industry experience is a plus.
  • Areas of specialization span the broad range of Systems Engineering, Business Intelligence/Data Science, IT Architecture, Management Information Systems (MIS), Operations Research, etc.
