Harrisburg University has been awarded a grant from PA DEP to undertake mapping of abandoned mines in Pennsylvania for the purpose of better identifying home owners who may be affected by mine subsidence. Under the supervision of HU Faculty the day to day production supervision and undergraduate student assistance will be provided by recent Geospatial Technology program graduates and full time HU graduate students in the Project Management Masters of Science program. For each grant work category (scanning, georeferencing and digitizing) the Supervisor will be responsible for coordination, logistics and project monitoring/reporting tasks required for efficient and high quality production capacity.

Supervisor Requirements: Student/Graduate must have successfully completed HU’s GSTC program within the last year, or be actively enrolled in HU’s PMGT Graduate Program. Priority will be given to applicants with Project Management or GIS experience. Current graduate students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered academically eligible for the Supervisor position. Student must be available for 5-10 hours of project work per week.

Work begins in September 2013 and will be compensated at $18/hour.
