The Virtual Raspberry Pi: Options & Alternatives/Richard Kordel

This session will feature some alternatives for those who may not have a Raspberry Pi with them. If you have a laptop, we will be walking thru the process of installing a Virtual Machine manager and a copy of Raspian, the Pi Operating system.

Setup Your Raspberry Pi: The Out of Box Experience / TBD

If you are new to the Raspberry Pi, bring it along. We will walk the process of creating a bootable SD card, downloading Raspian, and starting your pi. There will be a very limited number of monitors and keyboards available, so if you bring your own it will be easier.

Raspian: Basic Linux Administration

The native operating system of the Pi is Raspian, a variant of Debian. If you have never worked with Linux this session is designed to reduce stress and teach you some basic sysadmin commands.

Raspberry Pi-Camp:

This is an open session conducted according to the rules established at BarCamps. BarCamps are open “unconferences” where anyone can share, and anyone can participate.

Instructional Technologist Workshop / Richard Kordel

PDE Instructional Technologists can serve as critical resources for schools to explore the Pi in a variety of STEM curricula. This session will provide an opportunity to share experiences and to explore some educational resources available for the Pi and for Instructional Technology Specialists.

Game Programming & Minecraft

There are several books written about the Raspberry Pi and Minecraft. This session will explore some of those topics.
