Dawn has facilitated undergraduate and graduate courses for 15 years in business communication, corporate social responsibility, leadership, management, organization behavior, first year seminars, capstones and academic and applied research and writing. She has instructed in traditional semester formats; however, her expertise is in online, accelerated and with adult learners.
Dawn holds an M.B.A from Eastern University and a M.Ed. and B.S. from the Pennsylvania University.
She has been a member of the Executive Board for the Council for Accelerated Programs (CAP) since 2009, served as Chair from 2012-13; is a current member of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) and a former member of the Association for Continuing Higher Education (ACHE). Dawn has presented over 25 national or regional workshops, seminars or webinars related to accelerated learning over the last 10 years.
Dawn is the Director, Adult and Professional Studies at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU). She recently implemented an Adult Degree Program for working professionals and adults to complete their undergraduate degree in an accelerated online delivery format. She works with HU faculty to explore and develop additional academic programs applicable for the adult-online market. Dawn recruits, hires and develops corporate faculty. She is a member of the HU general education, assessment and curriculum committees.
Prior to working at HU, Dawn taught and served in administrative positions as an associate dean and/or director at other colleges/universities. She has worked in higher education for the last 20+ years and has created a for-credit adult degree program, developed new programs, curriculum and individual courses, opened satellite locations, designed a faculty development and mentoring program, and assisted with writing several strategic plans.
