Emily Reed is Harrisburg University’s Assistant Resources Librarian. She assists students, faculty, and staff with research questions and accessing information. She is a well-rounded librarian, having worked previously in academic libraries, elementary libraries, and public libraries before coming to HU. Her professional interests include information literacy, educational technologies, and instructional design.
Emily graduated with a Masters in Library & Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014. Her undergraduate degree was completed at Taylor University (Upland, IN) where she received a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education.
Emily is active in the Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) and American Library Association (ALA). She currently serves as Chair-Elect of the PaLA Teaching, Learning, & Technology Round Table, and is working with a small group of Pennsylvania librarians to assess a mentoring program pilot which will later be developed into a professional program specifically designed for librarians in Pennsylvania.
Emily grew up in beautiful Central Pennsylvania, graduating from Mechanicsburg Area Senior High. She currently lives in Camp Hill with her husband and two beagle mix pups.
