HU seeks an experienced training professional to lead the design and delivery of customized trainings and work closely with external stakeholders for whom the trainings are being provided. As part of the Professional Education team, this individual will work collaboratively with client representatives, subject matter experts, training partners and University staff to lead special training projects. Currently the University seeks an individual for a full-time, temporary position for a minimum of 30 months to lead a large-scale technology training initiative.

The responsibilities of the Training Leader will be the following:

  • Provide client management and project management, including analysis of future opportunities
  • Represent HU on the project as the Training Leader and serve as a liaison between HU, the project manager, the client, subject matter experts and other project partners
  • Lead the instructional design process and ensure the use of best practices in adult learning and curriculum design, including analysis of training needs and identification of training strategies
  • Coordinate independent subject matter experts and training partners contributing to training development and delivery
  • Lead the development of communications including student and instructor materials, pre & post-training correspondence
  • Coordinate approaches to assess impact and outcomes, including client satisfaction and meeting overall project objectives
  • Manage development timeline, budget and deliverables
  • Oversee the coordination of the training schedule and logistics, including the use of HU facilities and technologies
  • Oversee the participant registration process and documentation of training (student records, such registration, rosters, verifications, certificates, etc.)

Reports to: Director of Strategic Program Management

Receives support from: support staff member, independent consultants/subject matter experts, instructional developer, other HU staff and faculty as appropriate

Candidate Requirements:

  • instructional design experience associated with adult learning in a business environment
  • experience coordinating training schedules, logistics and instructors
  • basic project management skills; experience planning and coordinating programs
  • strong customer service skills; experience working with clients or project sponsors
  • strong written and oral communication skills
  • ability to think strategically and work tactically

The training leader would work on behalf of a diverse group of stakeholders to analyze the project requirements, design effective strategies, and implement a training plan in response to highly specialized training objectives that will be defined in detail as the project unfolds. The candidate would join an innovative, entrepreneurial university and perform a project management and client management role in the growing division of professional education and corporate training.
