Jennifer Sliko Meyer Corporate Faculty (PMGT)

Jennifer Sliko is a Geoscientist Corporate Faculty in the Earth and Environmental Science and Business Sustainability Program at Harrisburg U.  She uses she/her/hers pronouns. Her research focus includes examining the effectiveness of stream restoration projects, environmental science education and using geochemical proxies for paleoenvironmental reconstructions. Her recent projects include developing new ways to teach about climate change issues in general education classes and comparing how well students retain information in non-traditional classes (like online and flipped classes). She is also working on a project examining stream restoration sites of different ages in Lancaster County.  Dr. Sliko has over a decade of experience teaching introductory science courses at Penn State Harrisburg, Virginia Tech, University of Western Carolina, and Lord Fairfax Community College. Dr. Sliko completed her PhD (geoscience, paleoclimatology emphasis) in 2010 from the University of South Florida and her BS in Geology and Marine Science at Rider University in 2000. In her spare time, Dr. Sliko enjoys hiking with her family and exploring the outdoors with her daughters.

Teaching and Research Interests: Teaching interests include environmental science, geology, and climate change. Research interest include environmental science education pedagogy, stream restoration, and paleoclimatic reconstructions.
