Alvernia University & Harrisburg University introduce innovative Healthcare, Leadership programs

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology and Alvernia University have signed an articulation agreement that gives students the flexibility to enroll in select courses and programs at both universities.

Effective immediately, students enrolled in Alvernia’s Master of Science in Nursing program may take, as a concentration, graduate-level courses that make up Harrisburg University’s Healthcare Informatics degree program. The courses include: Essential Informatics Skills I, Essential Informatics Skills II, Introduction to Healthcare Analytics and Healthcare Data.

The universities also have agreed to co-establish an innovative Leadership Development Program aimed at Senior Managers in State Government.

Using case studies, team projects, role playing and scenario planning, participants will learn how to improve workplace culture as they develop learning strategies, tactics and management techniques focused on the unique challenges faced by government employees.

Harrisburg University is pleased to join forces with Alvernia University on both innovative programs, which make HU’s Advanced Healthcare Informatics courses more accessible, and provide senior management in state government with the
skills to engage and effectively motivate staff.
