Hewlett Packard spotlights HU Esports and HUE Festival
The Harrisburg University Esports and Music Festival (HUE Festival) drew thousands of guests to downtown Harrisburg last weekend and shined a national spotlight on the University and its new esports program.
Hewlett Packard is the latest group to spotlight the University’s esports team, The HU Storm, and the HUE Festival. In an article, posted to the news section of the computer company’s website can be found Here.
Local and national media organizations, including ESPN, provided great coverage of HUE Festival, before, during, and after the event.
Fans packed HU and the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts as collegiate esports teams from across the U.S. came to HUE Festival to compete in two of esports’ biggest games, League of Legends and Overwatch, on Sept. 21-22. Harrisburg University’s team, The HU Storm, took home second place in both tournament competitions.
As the esports teams battled inside, crowds lined Market and Third streets, enjoying food trucks, a beer garden, and music from local and national acts, including Alien Ant Farm, LIT and Atlas Genius. Other vendors from across the nation also set up booths downtown during the event.
