HU student to host Black Lives Matter assembly in park
Harrisburg University student Raquel Huggins has organized a local Black Lives Matter assembly entitled “A Talk in the Park: The first step of fighting racism as a community” set to take place at Mechanicsburg’s Soldier & Sailor Memorial Park at 5 p.m. Saturday.
The event will provide the opportunity for a diverse panel of community members to discuss ways to make our community a better place along with emphasizing the importance of supporting black-owned businesses in central Pennsylvania.
Huggins will represent the HU NAACP club during the event.
For the safety of others, attendees are asked to wear a face mask at the event.
Soldier & Sailor Memorial Park is located at 1 Memorial Park Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055.
