Project Management

I notice that Harrisburg University is a Registered Education Provider for the Project Management Institute (PMI). What does that mean relative to the quality of my Masters of Science degree in Project Management?

Harrisburg University has been a Registered Education Provider for PMI for nearly 10 years. This means that the instruction you receive from Harrisburg University in our Project Management Program is in alignment with PMI standards and guidelines, which is the largest standards and guidelines organization in project management in the world.

I am interested in the Agile Lean Concentration. Suppose I decide to take a different elective for my program. Is that an option?

The Agile Lean Concentration requires that you complete 4 courses in Agile Lean, one of which is a required core course. This allows you to talk 1 other elective outside the Agile Lean Concentration. If you decide to take more than this one elective, you can choose whatever elective you want from inside the project management program or other graduate programs and choose the individualized concentration. Either way, you just need to fill the total 36 hours of graduate credit.

What Grade Point Average (GPA) must I have to complete this program?

All of your graduate programs including the Master of Science in Project Management require you to have a 3.0 GPA in order to graduate. This means you must have a B or better average in order to graduate.

I see that you offer PMGT 697 PMP/CAPM Exam Prep for 0 credit hours. Why would I want to take this course for 0 credit?

The PMP (and CAPM to a certain extent) is the largest certification in the world with over 760,00 project managers certified by PMI. Harrisburg University believes so strongly in this certification that we are providing this course to our students to help them prepare and pass the PMP or CAPM exam. The value to your career for having a PMP in addition to your M.S. in Project Management will be huge. Studies have shown that the average salary of a project manager with a PMP is $10,000-15,000 per year larger than those project managers without a PMP. Harrisburg University also encourages our students to get a certification in Agile as well.
