Advanced Manufacturing, AR and Robotics Professor Glenn Williams and Biology Professor, Dr. Rachel Fogle, along with Phoenix Contact Solutions Engineer Joshua Krug, will discuss the functional purpose of the proposed HU Aquaponics Monitoring and Control System Project from 4:30-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Building on an existing partnership with Phoenix Contact, HU has teamed with the technology component manufacturer to develop an environmental and plant monitoring and control system for the HU Aquaponics Lab, located in HU’s Student Union.

The project involves the design and implementation of technology that will regularly take measurements from the environment (e.g., air temperature, water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, etc) as well as the PLCnext Technology will systematically collect, store, and web-publish the measurement data for HU researchers and the public to use for scientific research.
