Undergraduate Admissions Recruiter — Harrisburg campus

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is seeking a full-time Undergraduate Admissions Recruiter, responsible for domestic recruiting efforts.  Based out of the Harrisburg campus, the recruiter will oversee all aspects of the undergraduate recruitment within their designated territory. The admissions recruiter is responsible for organizing and executing recruitment efforts and developing and meeting targeted enrollment goals to recruit a highly qualified and diverse student body. The successful candidate must be energetic, self-motivated and able to identify the interests and needs of prospective students while articulating the value of a STEM education.


  • Recruit prospective students by conducting high school visits and attending college fairs through the completion, review and conversion of inquiries, applicants, admitted and enrolled students for the designated territory to increase applications and enrollment activity through cultivating relationships within the selected territory and accurately forecast enrollment within territory to meet qualitative and quantitative team goals
  • Initiate and maintain regular communication with prospective students to provide a high level of customer service as a first point of contact
  • Plan and execute travel and continue recruiting efforts throughout the year for strategic territory management; evening and weekend work may be required
  • Work independently, but cooperate with a high-functioning team to achieve the common goals of admissions to order to fulfill the mission of the University
  • Communicate with faculty and administration to foster positive and successful working relationships and provide exchange of new opportunities in the Philadelphia, PA territory
  • Prepare reports related to the history and progress of defined enrollment characteristics as needed
  • Communicate the value of science and technology programs to both students and parents
  • Various other duties as nec


  • Bachelor’s Degree required; STEM degree preferred
  • One to 3 years of successful experience in higher education recruiting; experience recruiting first- generation college students preferred
  • Attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication and strong organization skills
  • Strong work ethic, high level of energy, creativity in and out of a traditional office setting and able to represent the integrity of the University
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Excellent writing, presentation and interpersonal and tele-counseling skills
  • Proven ability to manage phone and in-person communication with confidence and strong customer service skills including tact and diplomacy
  • Event planning, college and admissions and financial aid knowledge preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (reimbursement will be provided)
  • Knowledge of Jenzebar or admissions database tracking software preferred
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office computer systems, knowledge of computer databases and receptive to the use of new technology, while also able to utilize web and social media platforms for recruitment
