Thomas Sarachan is a lawyer-turned-game designer whose work has won awards for independent game creation. He uses games to highlight and study interactions in life outside of play. To that end, he has worked on games about building healthy relationships, cross-examining witnesses, and even re-gifting.
In his prior career, Thomas was an attorney whose career focused on post-conviction public defense. He uses that professional experience in the classroom to inform his teaching of ethics, organizational behavior, and many other topics.
Teaching and Research Interests:
Thomas studies game design both as a formal exercise and as part of the broader culture. He has taught design for both educational and professional audiences and uses interactive designs in the classroom. Currently, his work is focused on creating interactive tools for higher education, and especially for humanities courses.
